Meet the Music Staff

Norwood Pearson                             Guitar, Piano, Violin

Norwood graduated with a Bachelors of Arts from Berklee College of Music in 2009. He has been the Band and Orchestra director of East and South Middle School in Braintree since his graduation. Norwood has his initial Massachusetts Educators License from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Norwood also was a guitar instructor at Appel Farms Art and Music Camp in Elmer, NJ. He has been featured in recordings such as Lovelesslust  and  “Thorns” Kokopelli – Metamorphosis. He is also a member of  The National Association for Music Education, the American String Teachers Association, and the Southeastern Massachusetts School Bandmasters Association Massachusetts Teachers Association. Norwood’s goal is to challenge himself as a musician and educator, and to challenge his students to reach their fullest potential.

 

Jason Thomason                               Guitar, Piano

Jason graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree from The Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles, California. He also has an Associate’s Degree in Music Education from San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico. Jason has been working as a private music lesson instructor for over 5 years throughout the country in addition to directing a music program at the Boys and Girls Club of Farmington New Mexico. He also was the lead guitarist and Musical Director of The Kory Montgomery Band from 2007-2009. Jason prides himself on being compassionate and inspiring with the ability to make each student feel special and cared for, while simultaneously maintaining a direction that is focused and goal oriented. He is an enthusiastic educator with exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills who has a keen ability to cultivate and build strong relationships with students, and parents.

 

 Mike Tucker                       Drums, Piano

Mike is currently studying at Berklee Colege of Music under Bob Tamagni, Jon Hazilla, and Ed Saindon. Mike has recently performed as a musician in many college and high school shows.  He has also performed with Evan Goodrow, Jeremy Quick, Maura Mendoza, The F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Co., The MIT Theatre Guild, the Bently College Theatre Group, Pretty & Nice (Hardly Art/Sub Pop Records), and The Country Jam Band. Mike brings his real life experiences and exposure to the classroom by teaching his students not only music, but also how to perform and be a professional.

 

Dave Prendergast                            Guitar, Bass, Piano, Trumpet

Dave graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music. Dave has a great philosophy and passion for teaching. He enjoys a music educator because it allows him to utilize his skills and provide students with quality music education and performance activities by using traditional pedagogic techniques and modern technology.

 

 Grace Dinneen                                Voice, Piano          

Grace graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Eastern Nazarene College. Grace has experience touring with a collegiate chamber choir throughout Scandinavian countries and eastern European countries. She is also a three-time soprano soloist for the Eastern Nazarene College Choral Union and Quincy Bay Orchestra’s performance of Handel’s Messiah. Grace loves sharing her passion for music with her students. She believes in a fun, hard working environment to help students achieve their highest potential.

 

Katrina Abraham                             Voice, Piano

Katrina received her Bachelors degree from Eastern Nazarene College.  Along with her work in music education, Katrina has toured the United States as well as Eastern Europe singing with the Eastern Nazarene A Cappella and Chamber Choirs. Katrina believes in a creating a fun and active learning environment for students, promoting dedication to learning and a love and understanding of music.
